Command Hospital (CC) Lucknow conducted a large-scale Hand Sanitization Exercise at Shivam Lawns as part of a Pan Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) initiative, showcasing a strong commitment to preventive healthcare and infection control.
The event contributed to a nationwide record attempt for the Largest Hand Sanitization Exercise by Defence Personnel, undertaken across India in association with the Indian Book of Records and the Asia Book of Records. The initiative also commemorated 100 years of the Military Nursing Service, honouring a century of dedicated, compassionate and professional nursing care.

A total of 512 uniformed personnel and civilian staff from the Tri-Servicesโincluding medical and nursing staff and cadetsโcollectively performed the WHO-recommended six-step hand sanitization technique using alcohol-based hand rubs, reaffirming adherence to standardised infection prevention protocols.
Brigadier Vikas Srivastava, Deputy Commandant of Command Hospital (CC) Lucknow, attended the event and highlighted the critical role of hand hygiene in healthcare delivery systems. He emphasised that consistent infection control practices are foundational to patient safety and clinical excellence.

The coordinated effort reflected the AFMSโs commitment to patient safety, professional excellence and preventive healthcare, while contributing to a historic national and Asian record and celebrating the enduring legacy of the Military Nursing Service.
