Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, Army Commander, Northern Command, visited the Siachen Brigade to review its combat potential and overall operational preparedness in the challenging high-altitude environment.

During the visit, the Army Commander inspected the Siachen Ski Node, where he evaluated the specialised training infrastructure and skiing capabilities essential for mobility and survival in the glacier terrain. He was briefed on the brigade’s readiness levels, sustainment measures and ongoing training initiatives designed to maintain combat effectiveness under extreme climatic conditions.

Lt Gen Sharma interacted with troops deployed in the harsh and inhospitable terrain of Siachen, acknowledging their exceptional professionalism, courage and unwavering dedication while operating at the world’s highest battlefield. He appreciated their high morale and sustained vigilance in safeguarding national interests.
Emphasising the evolving nature of warfare, the Army Commander urged all ranks to actively embrace technology and innovation to enhance operational effectiveness. He highlighted the importance of integrating modern tools and advanced systems to meet emerging challenges and maintain dominance in the demanding operational environment of Siachen.
