Major General Ajai Singh Dabas has assumed command of Counter Insurgency Force (Delta) from Major General APS Bal, AVSM, SM, in a formal handing-over ceremony marked by military tradition and solemnity. The transition signifies the continuation of operational leadership in one of the Indian Army’s key counter-insurgency formations.
On the occasion, the newly appointed General Officer Commanding paid homage to the Bravehearts by laying a wreath at the War Memorial, honouring the supreme sacrifices made by soldiers in the line of duty. The ceremony reflected the force’s enduring commitment to courage, sacrifice and service to the nation.
Addressing the troops, Maj Gen Dabas extended his best wishes to all ranks and emphasised the importance of maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence. He exhorted personnel to remain vigilant, mission-focused and professionally committed in the face of evolving security challenges.
Reaffirming the formation’s mandate, the GOC, CIF (D), stressed the need to continue fostering peace and stability in the region through coordinated operations, robust intelligence efforts and strong community engagement. The command transition marks a renewed commitment to sustaining operational momentum while upholding the core values of the Indian Army.
