The Young Officer Course conducted at the College of Military Engineering (CME), Pune, concluded on 10 March 2026, preparing newly commissioned officers to take on responsibilities as effective platoon commanders in combat engineering units.

During the closing ceremony, Major General Vikram Gulati, Officiating Commandant of CME, addressed the officers and emphasised the importance of resilience, initiative, and a mission-first ethos, qualities that define the role of combat engineers in modern warfare.
He encouraged the officers to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and leadership as they move forward in their military careers.
Lt Vishal Aggarwal Wins Top Honour
Lieutenant Vishal Aggarwal of 13 Engineer Regiment secured the first position among Indian Army officers, earning the prestigious Silver Grenade and the GOC-in-C ARTRAC Award for his outstanding performance during the course.

Nepal Army Officer Tops Foreign Officers Category
Among the officers from friendly foreign countries, Captain Manoj Subedi of the Nepal Army achieved the first position, reflecting the strong training collaboration and professional military exchanges between India and partner nations.
The successful completion of the course highlights the Indian Army’s commitment to developing technically proficient and mission-ready combat engineers capable of supporting operations across diverse terrains and combat scenarios.
