Surgeon Vice Admiral Kavita Sahai, AVSM, SM, VSM, Director General Medical Services (Navy), conducted a three-day visit to the Gujarat Naval Area from March 23 to 25, reviewing medical infrastructure and healthcare delivery across key naval establishments.

During the visit, she inspected medical facilities at INS Sardar Patel, Naval Air Enclave (NAE), and Indian Coast Guard units at Porbandar, as well as INS Dwarka in Okha.

Surg Vice Adm Sahai was accompanied by Surgeon Rear Admiral K M Adhikari, Chief Medical Officer (West), during the visit. She also interacted with Rear Admiral Sritanu Guru, VSM, Flag Officer Gujarat Naval Area (FOGNA), to review ongoing medical initiatives and operational healthcare readiness.

A key highlight of the visit was the inauguration of a new physiotherapy clinic at INS Sardar Patel, aimed at enhancing medical support infrastructure and improving patient care for naval personnel and their families.
The visit underscores the Indian Navy’s continued focus on strengthening military medicine, advancing healthcare excellence, and ensuring robust medical preparedness across operational areas.
