On the eve of relinquishing command, Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command, addressed all ranks, commending them for their professionalism, dedication, and operational excellence.
Lauding the troops for their performance during Operation Sindoor, Lt Gen Seth highlighted the Command’s significant progress under the Decade of Transformation, emphasizing enhanced jointness, induction of modern technology and platforms, and the raising of new operational structures. He also noted the adoption of innovative Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs), which have strengthened operational capabilities.

The Army Commander underscored that sustained capability development and rigorous training across diverse terrains—including desert, Rann, creek, and coastal sectors—have reinforced Southern Command’s combat edge, making it well-prepared for modern battlefields.
In his address, Lt Gen Seth outlined five enduring “Mantras for all Soldiers”:
- Maintain absolute clarity of operational tasks and stay focused on execution
- Uphold the honour, pride, and glory of one’s unit
- Care for juniors, respect seniors, and preserve camaraderie
- Remain physically fit and mentally robust
- Always represent the Indian Army with dignity and uphold its traditions

Expressing confidence in the Command’s future, he stated that Southern Command remains future-ready, adaptable, and fully prepared to undertake multi-domain operations across the full spectrum of modern conflict to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty.
Senior officers and personnel attended the address, marking a significant moment as Lt Gen Seth prepares to hand over command.
