Lieutenant General VMB Krishnan, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Eastern Command, visited key locations in Manipur including Churachandpur, Moreh, and Shaibol to review the prevailing security situation and operational preparedness.
During the visit, Lt Gen Krishnan was accompanied by senior officers, including the General Officer Commanding of the Spear Corps and officials from Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South).

The Army Commander was briefed on the current operational dynamics in the region, which has remained sensitive due to ongoing security challenges. He also interacted with troops deployed in these forward areas, acknowledging their dedication and resilience in maintaining stability.

Lt Gen Krishnan commended all formations for sustaining high standards of operational readiness, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to duty under demanding conditions.

The visit underscores the Indian Army’s continued focus on maintaining vigilance and strengthening security mechanisms in the Northeast, particularly in strategically significant areas like Moreh, which lies along the India–Myanmar border.
