Lieutenant General Harbinder Singh Vandra, General Officer Commanding of the Madhya Bharat Area, visited Headquarters Purva Uttar Pradesh & Madhya Pradesh Sub Area in Prayagraj to review operational preparedness and ongoing initiatives.
During the visit, Lt Gen Vandra was briefed on key developments including operational readiness, preparations for the North Tech Symposium (NTS), veteran outreach programmes, welfare initiatives, and upcoming infrastructure development projects.

The GOC conducted a detailed review of operational preparedness at the Ordnance Depot Prayagraj and the 508 Army Base Workshop Cheoki, highlighting the importance of logistics and maintenance support in sustaining military operations.
He also inspected the ECHS Polyclinic and the Defence Pension Contact Centre (DPCC), where he interacted with Kanwaljeet Singh, Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (Pension), to review pension-related services and grievance redressal mechanisms.

Lt Gen Vandra engaged with veterans during the visit, appreciating their continued contribution to nation-building. He reaffirmed the Indian Army’s commitment to ensuring meaningful support for veterans, Veer Naris, and their dependents through enhanced welfare and outreach measures.

The visit underscores the Army’s dual focus on operational readiness and veteran welfare, ensuring both frontline preparedness and sustained support for the armed forces community.
