Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi visited Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in Bengaluru to review indigenous aerospace capabilities and ongoing projects related to Army Aviation.
During the visit, the Army Chief was briefed on upgrade and maintenance ecosystems that support Army Aviation platforms, highlighting India’s growing self-reliance in defence manufacturing and aviation technology.

A key highlight of the visit was Gen Dwivedi undertaking a maiden sortie in the Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) Prachand, gaining first-hand experience of its advanced performance and combat capabilities. The LCH Prachand is a flagship indigenous platform designed for high-altitude warfare and precision strike missions.
The interaction underscores the Indian Army’s focus on modernisation and indigenisation, with HAL playing a crucial role in strengthening the country’s aerospace and defence ecosystem.

Gen Dwivedi appreciated the efforts being made towards enhancing operational readiness through cutting-edge technology and reaffirmed the Army’s commitment to leveraging indigenous solutions for future combat requirements.
