Lieutenant General RS Sundaram, SM, VSM, Director General Recruiting at Integrated Headquarters of the Ministry of Defence (Army), visited the Selection Centre South on April 26, 28, and 29, 2026, to review the functioning of the Services Selection Boards (SSBs).

During the visit, the General Officer was briefed on the comprehensive assessment procedures followed at the SSBs for evaluating candidates aspiring to join as Commissioned Officers in the Indian Armed Forces. The briefing covered various stages of testing, including psychological evaluation, group tasks, and personal interviews.

Lt Gen Sundaram also reviewed the testing infrastructure and facilities available at Selection Centre South, focusing on their role in ensuring a fair, transparent, and merit-based selection process. The centre plays a crucial role in identifying and nurturing potential leaders for the armed forces.

The visit underscored the Indian Army’s commitment to maintaining high standards in officer selection and continuously improving assessment methodologies in line with evolving requirements.

Selection Centre South remains a key institution in shaping future officers by providing a robust and structured evaluation system, ensuring that only the most capable candidates are inducted into the armed forces.
