The Potential Subedar Major Course conducted at the Junior Leaders Academy for Junior Leaders culminated on May 14, 2026, after an intensive four-week professional training capsule focused on leadership development and operational readiness.

The course was attended by Subedar Majors, equivalent ranks, and potential Subedar Majors from the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, Indian Navy, Assam Rifles, and the Special Frontier Force (SFF).
The programme aimed at strengthening leadership acumen, enhancing inter-service understanding, and improving battlefield readiness to meet emerging operational challenges.
Addressing the participants during the valedictory function, Brigadier Gaurav Kapoor, Commandant of the academy, highlighted the crucial role played by Subedar Majors in maintaining cohesive force dynamics, operational effectiveness, and leadership excellence amid evolving geopolitical and technological challenges.

He also emphasised the importance of digital mindset development and adaptive leadership in modern warfare environments.
Subedar Govind Ram Mahala of the JAT Regiment was adjudged the “Overall Best Student” for his outstanding performance during the course.
The training programme reflected the Armed Forces’ continued focus on leadership development, jointmanship, and preparing junior leaders for future operational responsibilities.
