Air Marshal Yalla Umesh, VSM, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Maintenance Command Indian Air Force, visited the MCEME, Secunderabad, on May 26, 2026.

During the visit, the Air Marshal was briefed on the institution’s pivotal role in promoting Tri-Services integration through joint technical training, innovation, and capability development aligned with the Indian Army’s “Decade of Transformation” vision.

The briefing highlighted MCEME’s contribution towards fostering jointness among the Armed Forces by conducting integrated training programmes for personnel from all three Services in niche and emerging technology domains.

Key focus areas included Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), drones, additive manufacturing, electronic warfare, communication technologies, and advanced weapon and aviation systems.

Air Marshal Umesh also visited various faculties of the institution, where he was apprised of contemporary training methodologies, ongoing research and development initiatives for indigenisation, and modern infrastructure aimed at enhancing interoperability, operational synergy, and combat readiness across the Armed Forces.

Officials stated that the visit reaffirmed the growing emphasis on technology-driven military transformation, indigenous innovation, and integrated capability development within the Indian Armed Forces.
