Cadet Ranvijay Tyagi of Juliet Squadron emerged as the top performer in the Computer Science stream at the Convocation Ceremony of the historic 150th Course of the National Defence Academy (NDA), securing first position with an impressive FGPA of 8.50.
For his outstanding academic achievement, Cadet Tyagi was awarded the prestigious Commandant’s Silver Medal and the Admiral’s Rolling Trophy, instituted by Admiral Sureesh Mehta, PVSM, AVSM, ADC, former Chief of the Naval Staff.
The award was presented during the NDA Convocation Ceremony held at Khadakwasla on May 29, where 236 cadets were conferred degrees by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).
Speaking after receiving the honour, Tyagi credited his parents for instilling in him a passion for learning from an early age.
“I thank my parents for inculcating this habit of learning in me since school time,” he said.
The young cadet also acknowledged the crucial role played by his seniors at the Academy in guiding him throughout his academic journey.
“I took the help of my seniors. I took guidance from them. I am able to achieve this with their help,” he added.
Tyagi’s achievement reflects not only academic excellence but also the culture of mentorship, teamwork and camaraderie that forms an integral part of life at the NDA. His success highlights the importance of continuous learning, disciplined effort and seeking guidance from experienced mentors.
The Convocation Ceremony marked a significant milestone for the cadets of the NDA’s 150th Course as they prepare to move forward in their journey towards becoming officers of the Armed Forces.
