New Delhi, May 30, 2026: Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, VSM (Retd), Governor of Uttarakhand, visited the Army Hospital (Research & Referral) in New Delhi and interacted with the Commandant, Lieutenant General Avinash Das, and his team. During the visit, he appreciated the hospital’s remarkable contribution to strengthening the Indian Army’s medical, research, and healthcare capabilities.
Army Hospital (R&R), one of the premier medical institutions of the Armed Forces, has been playing a vital role in providing advanced healthcare services to serving personnel, veterans, and their families. The hospital has also established a distinct identity in the field of medical research within the Indian Army.
Lt Gen Gurmit Singh praised the institution for its exemplary work in military medicine, research, and specialised healthcare services. He noted that the hospital has consistently contributed to taking the Indian Army’s medical and research standards to new heights.
During his visit, he also extended heartfelt congratulations to the entire team of Army Hospital (R&R) for successfully organising an eye camp in Uttarakhand for the benefit of veterans. The initiative reflected the hospital’s continued commitment to the welfare of ex-servicemen and their families.

The eye camp, conducted under the aegis of Army Hospital (R&R), provided much-needed medical support to veterans in Uttarakhand and showcased the Army’s enduring bond with its retired personnel.
