Lieutenant General Girish Kalia, General Officer Commanding of the Spear Corps, visited an Assam Rifles formation in Agartala, Tripura, to review the prevailing internal security situation and assess the operational preparedness of troops deployed in the region.
During the visit, the Corps Commander was briefed on the security environment, ongoing operational activities and measures being undertaken to maintain a high level of combat readiness. The review focused on evaluating the formation’s preparedness to effectively respond to emerging security challenges while ensuring stability in the area.
Lt Gen Kalia assessed the operational capabilities of the formation and reviewed the measures implemented to maintain vigilance and readiness in support of internal security objectives.
Interacting with officers and troops, the Corps Commander commended all ranks for their exemplary professionalism, unwavering dedication and steadfast commitment to duty. He lauded the personnel for maintaining high standards of operational efficiency and readiness while serving in a demanding security environment.

The General Officer also praised the troops for their high morale and continued efforts in safeguarding peace and stability in the region.
Officials stated that the visit reaffirmed the Indian Army’s focus on maintaining robust operational preparedness and strengthening coordination with Assam Rifles formations to effectively address security challenges in the Northeast.
