The Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, added another chapter to its distinguished record of academic excellence as its students and trainee officer secured top honours during the 20th Foundation Day celebrations of the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik, held on 10 June 2026.
Among the awardees, Medical Cadet Ananya Phadke received the University Gold Medal for securing the overall first position in Third MBBS, reflecting exceptional academic achievement and consistent excellence throughout her medical studies.

Medical Cadet Abhishek VR was also conferred the University Gold Medal in Forensic Medicine in recognition of his outstanding academic performance in the subject.
Further enhancing AFMC’s achievements, Major Karuna VK, PB BSc Nursing Trainee Officer at the College of Nursing, AFMC, was awarded the University Gold Medal in the First-Year Post Basic BSc Nursing Examinations for her exceptional performance.
The awards were presented during the university’s Foundation Day celebrations, which recognise meritorious students from affiliated medical, dental, nursing and healthcare institutions across Maharashtra.
