As part of his visit, the CDS also travelled to the Airbus C-295 Final Assembly Line facility at Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL), Vadodara, where he reviewed ongoing programmes related to capability development and indigenous defence manufacturing.

During the interaction, officials briefed the CDS on ongoing manufacturing activities, capability enhancement efforts and future plans related to the programme. The discussions focused on accelerating defence production, enhancing self-reliance and expanding India’s indigenous aerospace capabilities.

General Subramani also reviewed broader initiatives aligned with the national vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, highlighting the importance of indigenous defence manufacturing in strengthening long-term military preparedness and strategic autonomy.

The visit reflected the Armed Forces’ continued focus on integrating operational readiness with defence industrial growth, ensuring that India’s military modernisation efforts are supported by a robust domestic manufacturing base.

By reviewing both frontline operational preparedness and indigenous defence production initiatives, the CDS reaffirmed the importance of synergy between the Armed Forces and the domestic defence industry in building a future-ready and self-reliant military capability.
