Lieutenant General Manish Luthra, AVSM, has assumed command of the prestigious Kharga Corps, succeeding Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar, AVSM, VSM, who demitted office after a distinguished tenure marked by operational excellence, transformational leadership and an unwavering commitment to combat preparedness.
During the handing-over ceremony, Lt Gen Rajesh Pushkar formally transferred command of the Corps to Lt Gen Luthra, concluding a successful tenure during which the formation significantly enhanced its operational capabilities and readiness.

Under Lt Gen Pushkar’s leadership, Kharga Corps played a vital role during Operation Sindoor, demonstrating high levels of operational effectiveness while advancing its transformation into a future-ready, multi-domain force. His tenure also witnessed sustained emphasis on force modernisation, combat preparedness, technology integration and the welfare of troops and their families.

Lt Gen Manish Luthra assumes command at a time when the Corps continues to focus on strengthening operational readiness, enhancing joint capabilities and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism to address emerging security challenges.
