Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, called on Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri in New Delhi to discuss avenues for further strengthening the longstanding association between the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and the Indian Navy.
Welcoming the Naval Chief to his office, the Union Minister recalled his tenure as Joint Secretary (Navy) in the Ministry of Defence from 1994 to 1997, during which he worked closely with the Indian Navy on several key matters.
During the meeting, the two leaders exchanged views on enhancing cooperation between the Ministry and Naval Headquarters, with discussions centred on deepening institutional collaboration in areas of mutual interest.
The interaction underscores the continued coordination between the Indian Navy and key government ministries in advancing national maritime interests, energy security and strategic cooperation.
