Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar, AVSM, VSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Southern Command, visited his alma mater, the National Defence Academy (NDA), during the first week of assuming command, marking an emotional return to the institution where his military journey began.

During the visit, Lt Gen Rajesh Pushkar interacted with cadets of his former ‘K’ Squadron, sharing words of encouragement and insights from his distinguished military career. He also felicitated Squadron Appointments in recognition of their leadership and distributed sweets to the cadets, reaffirming the enduring bond between an alumnus and his alma mater.

Addressing the future military leaders, the Southern Army Commander urged the cadets to uphold the highest standards of discipline, integrity and professionalism while embracing the core values and ethos of the Indian Armed Forces.

The visit served as an inspiring reminder that true leadership is rooted in humility, gratitude and remembering one’s beginnings, reflecting the lifelong bond between the National Defence Academy and the leaders it nurtures.
