Lieutenant General Rajiv K. Sahni, Director General of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME) and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of EME, visited the Konark Corps Technology Centre to review the formation’s technology-driven initiatives and innovation ecosystem.
During the visit, the General Officer commended the Konark Eagles for developing an in-house ecosystem for the mass production and sustainment of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (CUAS), highlighting the initiative as a significant contribution towards the Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision in defence technology.
Lt Gen Sahni also appreciated the establishment of a Metallic Additive Manufacturing Facility, designed to address engineering support challenges through advanced manufacturing technologies and rapid production capabilities.
The visit underscored the Indian Army’s continued emphasis on technological innovation, indigenous capability development and the infusion of advanced technologies to strengthen operational readiness and build a future-ready force.
