Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma, PVSM, AVSM, SM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of the Army Training Command (ARTRAC), visited the Military College of Materials Management (MCMM) at Jabalpur on July 15, 2026, to review the institution’s training initiatives and its contribution towards developing technologically proficient and future-ready logistics leaders for the Indian Army. The visit highlighted the Army’s continued emphasis on modernising military education and strengthening logistical capabilities to meet the demands of contemporary and future warfare.
During the visit, Lt Gen Sharma was briefed by Major General Sandeep Bahl, SM, VSM, Officiating Commandant of MCMM, on the institution’s progressive training methodologies in the fields of ordnance, stores and ammunition management. The briefing provided a comprehensive overview of the College’s initiatives aimed at enhancing professional military education through innovative and technology-enabled training practices.
The Military College of Materials Management occupies a critical position within the Indian Army’s logistics framework, serving as the premier institution responsible for training officers and personnel in materials management, inventory control, ammunition handling and modern logistics practices. Its specialised programmes play a vital role in ensuring the efficient management and sustenance of the Army’s extensive operational requirements across diverse theatres of deployment.

Lt Gen Devendra Sharma commended MCMM for its successful technology-driven transformation and acknowledged its pivotal role in developing future-ready logistics leaders capable of meeting the challenges of modern military operations.
