Indian Army AFMS BSc Nursing Notification 2026

Eligible female candidates will be selected based on NEET (UG)-2026 scores, ToGIGE, Psychological Assessment, Interview, and Medical Fitness for commissioning in the Military Nursing Service.

The Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) has released the notification for admission to the four-year BSc Nursing Course commencing in 2026 at six Colleges of Nursing under the Military Nursing Service (MNS). Female candidates who have qualified NEET (UG)-2026 are eligible to apply online after the declaration of NEET results. Selection will be based on NEET (UG) scores, a Computer-Based Test of General Intelligence and General English (ToGIGE), Psychological Assessment, Interview, and medical fitness.

Candidates seeking admission must qualify NEET (UG)-2026 conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), register online through the Join Indian Army portal, and appear for the screening process at Base Hospital, Delhi Cantt, if shortlisted.

Eligibility Criteria

Female candidates who are unmarried, divorced, legally separated, or widows without encumbrances are eligible to apply. Applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

  • Must be a citizen of India.
  • Born between October 1, 2001 and September 30, 2009 (both dates inclusive).
  • Must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination in the first attempt.
  • Must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany and Zoology), and English.
  • Must have secured at least 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.

Physical Standards

Candidates must fulfil the prescribed medical and physical standards for entry into the Armed Forces. The minimum height requirement is:

  • 152 cm for all female candidates.
  • 147 cm for candidates from Hill and North Eastern States.
  • A growth allowance of 2 cm is permissible for candidates below 18 years of age at the time of examination.

Medical fitness will be determined by the Special Medical Board conducted at Base Hospital, Delhi Cantt.

Selection Process

The selection procedure comprises the following stages:

  1. Shortlisting based on NEET (UG)-2026 scores.
  2. Test of General Intelligence and General English (ToGIGE).
  3. Psychological Assessment.
  4. Interview by the Selection Board.
  5. Medical Examination.
  6. Final Merit List based on combined performance and medical fitness.

Candidates may also be assessed during the interview on Class XII core subjects, current affairs, general knowledge, hobbies, and extracurricular achievements. Additional weightage may be awarded for sports achievements and dependents of serving or retired Armed Forces personnel and personnel killed in action.

Training and Commissioning

Selected candidates will be required to execute an agreement bond to serve as officers in the Military Nursing Service of the Armed Forces Medical Services. During the training period, candidates will be provided:

  • Free accommodation.
  • Free ration.
  • Uniform allowance.
  • Monthly stipend as per prevailing rules.

On successful completion of the BSc Nursing programme, candidates will be granted Permanent or Short Service Commission in the Military Nursing Service.

How to Apply

Candidates who have qualified NEET (UG)-2026 will be able to apply online after the declaration of results by following these steps:

  • Register through the Join Indian Army website.
  • Complete the online application form.
  • Upload the required documents in the prescribed format.
  • Pay the application processing fee of ₹200 through the online payment gateway (except SC/ST candidates).
  • Submit the application and download the confirmation page for future reference.

Applicants are advised to keep their registered email ID and mobile number active throughout the selection process and regularly check the official website for updates regarding shortlisting and admit cards.
