Air Marshal Tarun Chaudhry, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C), Central Air Command, recently visited Air Force Station Gwalior to review the station’s operational preparedness, assess ongoing activities and interact with personnel across all ranks. The visit underscored the Indian Air Force’s continued focus on maintaining high operational readiness while enhancing the welfare and quality of life of its personnel and their families.
During the visit, Air Marshal Chaudhry received comprehensive briefings on the station’s operational capabilities, mission preparedness and ongoing initiatives aimed at strengthening combat readiness. He interacted with officers, air warriors and civilian personnel, appreciating their professionalism, dedication and unwavering commitment to the service of the nation.
Commending the station for maintaining high standards of operational efficiency, the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief praised the personnel for their exceptional morale, discipline and continued pursuit of excellence. A major highlight of the visit was the inauguration of a newly constructed accommodation facility for Air Warriors. The modern residential infrastructure is expected to significantly improve the living conditions of personnel and reflects the Indian Air Force’s commitment to providing quality housing and better welfare amenities for its workforce.
Air Marshal Chaudhry also inaugurated an Indoor Multi-Utility Games Arena at Air Force School Gwalior. The facility has been developed to promote sports, physical fitness and holistic development among students by providing modern infrastructure for a variety of indoor sporting activities. The initiative aligns with the Indian Air Force’s emphasis on nurturing the overall growth and well-being of the families of serving personnel.
Accompanying the AOC-in-C during the visit, Mrs. Savita Chaudhry, President of the Air Force Families Welfare Association (Regional), interacted with the Sanginis and reviewed various welfare initiatives being implemented for Air Force families. She appreciated the efforts made to strengthen community support systems and encouraged continued focus on programmes aimed at enhancing the welfare, education and well-being of the families of Air Warriors.
Air Force Station Gwalior is one of the Indian Air Force’s premier operational bases and plays a crucial role in safeguarding India’s airspace.
