Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Northern Command and Colonel of the Madras Regiment, undertook his maiden visit to the Madras Regimental Centre (MRC) at Wellington, Tamil Nadu, where he reviewed the centre’s training standards, infrastructure development and welfare initiatives. The Army Commander began his visit by paying homage to the regiment’s Bravehearts at the Madras Regimental Centre War Memorial. He laid a wreath in honour of the soldiers of the Madras Regiment who made the supreme sacrifice in service of the nation, reaffirming the Army’s enduring commitment to remembering the courage, dedication and legacy of its fallen warriors.
During the visit, Lt Gen Sharma interacted with officers, Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs), Other Ranks (ORs) and Agniveers undergoing training at the centre. He appreciated their professionalism, discipline and commitment to upholding the proud traditions of one of the Indian Army’s oldest and most decorated infantry regiments.
