Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar, AVSM, VSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Southern Command, visited the Konark Corps to review its operational preparedness and assess the formation’s readiness along the Western Front. The visit underscored the Indian Army’s continued emphasis on maintaining a high state of battle readiness while accelerating technology-driven capability enhancement.
During the visit, the Army Commander was briefed on the prevailing operational scenario, the formation’s deployment posture, infrastructure development and ongoing initiatives aimed at strengthening combat capabilities. The briefing highlighted measures being undertaken to enhance operational effectiveness and ensure the formation remains prepared to respond swiftly to evolving security challenges.
Lt Gen Pushkar also witnessed a display of advanced drones, niche weapon systems and cutting-edge military platforms, reflecting the Konark Corps’ growing focus on technology infusion and modern battlefield capabilities. The demonstration showcased the formation’s efforts to integrate emerging technologies into operational planning, surveillance, reconnaissance and precision engagement, in line with the Indian Army’s modernisation objectives.
A key highlight of the visit was the Army Commander’s inspection of the Additive Manufacturing Hub, where he reviewed indigenous innovations and advanced manufacturing initiatives designed to support operational logistics and equipment sustainment. Additive manufacturing, commonly known as 3D printing, is increasingly being adopted by the Indian Army to rapidly produce critical components, reduce maintenance timelines and enhance self-reliance in defence logistics.
Commending all ranks of the Konark Corps, Lt Gen Pushkar appreciated the formation’s high standards of battle readiness, professionalism and commitment to operational excellence. He praised its continued efforts towards innovation and indigenous capability development, noting that such initiatives contribute significantly to strengthening the Army’s combat effectiveness while advancing the national vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
The Army Commander encouraged personnel to continue embracing emerging technologies, refine operational skills and maintain the highest levels of preparedness to meet future battlefield challenges. He emphasised that innovation, technological adaptation and continuous capability enhancement remain essential for building a modern, agile and future-ready force.
