Air Marshal Jasvir Singh Mann, AVSM, VM, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C), Southern Air Command, visited 58 Signal Unit to review its operational preparedness and assess the unit’s key capabilities in supporting the Indian Air Force’s communication and operational network.
During the visit, the Air Marshal was briefed on the unit’s operational responsibilities, readiness levels and the measures being undertaken to maintain a high degree of efficiency in meeting evolving operational requirements. He reviewed the station’s capabilities and evaluated its preparedness to support the Indian Air Force’s mission across diverse operational scenarios.
Air Marshal Mann also interacted with officers, air warriors and personnel of the station, appreciating their professionalism, dedication and unwavering commitment to duty. He commended the unit for maintaining high operational standards and contributing effectively to the Indian Air Force’s overall operational readiness.
Addressing the personnel, the AOC-in-C highlighted the importance of maintaining peak physical fitness alongside professional competence. He stressed that physical endurance, mental resilience and continuous learning are essential qualities for personnel operating in an increasingly dynamic and technology-driven security environment.
The Southern Air Command chief also underscored the growing significance of technological proficiency in modern military operations. He encouraged personnel to remain updated with emerging technologies and to develop an in-depth understanding of contemporary warfare, including lessons from ongoing global conflicts that continue to shape the future battlefield.
Emphasising the need for continuous adaptation, Air Marshal Mann urged all personnel to remain agile, innovative and prepared to respond effectively to evolving operational challenges. He noted that mission success in future conflicts would depend on the ability of the force to rapidly integrate new technologies while maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence.
