Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Thursday congratulated Sandeep Lakhanpal, a resident of Hadeta (also spelled Hareta) Panchayat in the Nadaun assembly constituency of Hamirpur district, on his promotion to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Army.
The Chief Minister, who himself represents the Nadaun seat in the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha, issued the message through the state’s Information and Public Relations Department. In his statement, Sukhu highlighted the multi-generational military tradition of the Lakhanpal family.

Sukhu noted that Sandeep’s father had also served in the Indian Army and that the officer was now carrying forward that “glorious military tradition” with full dedication and commitment. He described the promotion as a source of inspiration not only for Nadaun but for the entire state of Himachal Pradesh.

Sandeep Lakhanpal hails from the village of Hareta (Hadeta) under Galore tehsil in Nadaun. According to local reports, he was commissioned as an officer in the Indian Army on 5 August 2013.
