The Indian Army has released the merit list for the Short Service Commission (Technical) – 67th Course, scheduled to commence in October 2026. The merit list includes candidates recommended across multiple engineering streams, with the final issuance of Joining Letters subject to vacancies, medical fitness, document verification and fulfilment of all eligibility conditions.

In the Civil Engineering category, 11 candidates have been recommended against 75 vacancies. The Computer Science Engineering category has recorded the highest number of recommendations. A total of 72 candidates have been recommended against 60 vacancies.

In the Electrical Engineering category, 18 candidates have been recommended against 33 vacancies. The Electronics Engineering category has 45 candidates recommended against 64 vacancies.

The Mechanical Engineering category has recorded 53 recommendations against 101 vacancies, making it the second-highest category in terms of the number of candidates recommended. In the Miscellaneous category, four candidates have been recommended against 17 vacancies.

The merit list makes it clear that inclusion of a candidate’s name does not by itself guarantee the issue of a Joining Letter. The Indian Army has stated that Joining Letters will be issued strictly according to merit and will remain subject to available vacancies, medical fitness, submission of all requisite documents and fulfilment of all eligibility criteria prescribed in the course notification.

Candidates who have not submitted copies of all semester marksheets, their degree or provisional degree certificates and other required documents have been directed to submit the documents immediately. The documents are required to be self-attested scanned copies and are to be submitted through the ‘Feedback/Query’ option available on the official Indian Army recruitment website.

The Army has also clarified that documentation and the results of medical examinations were not taken into account while preparing the merit list. These requirements will be considered subsequently while determining the eligibility of candidates for the issue of Joining Letters.

The SSC (Tech) entry provides engineering graduates with an opportunity to join the Indian Army as technical officers through the Short Service Commission route. Candidates selected through the process undergo military training before being commissioned into the service, subject to meeting all prescribed requirements.

The SSC (Tech)-67 merit list therefore represents an important stage in the selection process for the October 2026 course. Candidates whose names appear on the list will now need to complete the remaining documentation and medical requirements and await the issuance of Joining Letters according to merit and available vacancies.
