Brigadier Chirag Ghura, Chief Engineer, Project BEACON, accompanied by Brig S Deepak, Chief Engineer (Designate), called on Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha on August 18, 2026.
During the interaction, the BRO officers briefed the Lieutenant Governor on the extensive road infrastructure being constructed, upgraded and maintained by the Border Roads Organisation across Jammu and Kashmir.
The briefing focused particularly on efforts to strengthen strategic connectivity in the Union Territory and improve access through challenging and strategically important areas.
Project BEACON has been undertaking road infrastructure works aimed at enhancing connectivity and supporting the movement requirements associated with the region’s strategic and operational environment.
The interaction also highlighted the importance of maintaining and upgrading existing infrastructure while developing new connectivity corridors to improve accessibility across Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting reaffirmed the BRO’s continued commitment to strengthening strategic infrastructure and ensuring reliable connectivity across the Union Territory.
The ongoing infrastructure initiatives are expected to contribute not only to strategic preparedness but also to improved connectivity for remote areas and facilitate broader socio-economic development across Jammu and Kashmir.
