Air Marshal Tarun Chaudhry, AOC-in-C, Central Air Command, accompanied by Mrs Savita Chaudhry, President, AFFWA (Regional), recently visited Air Force Station Sonegaon and Raipur to review operational preparedness, infrastructure development and welfare initiatives.
During the visit to Air Force Station Sonegaon, Air Marshal Tarun Chaudhry conducted a comprehensive review of the station’s operational readiness, ongoing work services and existing infrastructure. The assessment focused on the station’s preparedness to meet operational requirements and the efficient utilisation of available resources.
The AOC-in-C also reviewed the progress of Project Gajraj, a Greenfield Air Force Station being developed at MIHAN. The project is aimed at strengthening the region’s aviation infrastructure and enhancing the Indian Air Force’s operational capabilities.

Air Marshal Tarun Chaudhry interacted with personnel across all ranks during the visit and appreciated their high morale, professionalism and unwavering commitment to duty. He urged personnel to maintain a sustained focus on force preservation and optimisation of resources while ensuring operational effectiveness.
The AOC-in-C also met Shri Vikas Sheel, IAS, Chief Secretary of Chhattisgarh, as part of efforts to further strengthen civil-military liaison and coordination. The interaction provided an opportunity to discuss matters of mutual interest and reinforce cooperation between the Indian Air Force and the civil administration.
Mrs Savita Chaudhry, President AFFWA (Regional), reviewed various welfare initiatives during the visit. She interacted with the Sanginis and appreciated their valuable contribution towards supporting the welfare ecosystem and families of Air Force personnel.
The visit provided an opportunity to assess operational preparedness, infrastructure development and personnel welfare while reinforcing the importance of efficient resource management and strong civil-military coordination.
The AOC-in-C’s engagement with personnel and review of ongoing projects reaffirmed Central Air Command’s focus on maintaining high operational standards, strengthening infrastructure and ensuring a motivated and future-ready force.
