Lieutenant General Amit Rao assumed the appointment of Commandant, Army Air Defence College (AADC), Gopalpur, marking a new chapter in the leadership of the premier training institution of the Indian Army’s Air Defence arm.
On the occasion, Lt Gen Sukriti Singh Dahiya, SM, VSM, Officiating General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Army Training Command (ARTRAC), extended congratulations and best wishes to Lt Gen Amit Rao on assuming the appointment.
Lt Gen Sukriti Singh Dahiya, who also serves as Chief of Staff, Headquarters ARTRAC and Colonel Commandant of the Bengal Sappers and Military Survey, conveyed her best wishes to the newly appointed Commandant for his tenure at the Army Air Defence College.
The Army Air Defence College at Gopalpur plays an important role in imparting specialised training and developing professional expertise among personnel of the Army Air Defence. The institution contributes to maintaining high standards of operational preparedness by focusing on specialised knowledge, technical proficiency and leadership development.
The change of command comes amid the Indian Army’s continued emphasis on strengthening air defence capabilities and preparing personnel to address the rapidly evolving nature of aerial threats. The increasing employment of unmanned aerial systems, precision weapons and other emerging technologies has placed greater importance on specialised training and continuous adaptation.
Under the leadership of Lt Gen Amit Rao, the Army Air Defence College is expected to continue its focus on professional excellence, capability development and preparing personnel for the demands of a technology-driven battlefield.
