The Indian Air Force has congratulated Squadron Leader Neha for an outstanding performance at the Khardung La Challenge 72K, one of India’s toughest high-altitude ultra races.
Sqn Ldr Neha completed the gruelling 72-km challenge in an impressive time of 8 hours, 56 minutes and 15 seconds, securing third position in the competition.
Her performance also marked a significant milestone in the history of the Khardung La Challenge. With her sub-nine-hour finish, Sqn Ldr Neha became the first non-Ladakhi woman across all 13 editions of the event to break the nine-hour barrier.
The Khardung La Challenge tests athletes in extreme high-altitude conditions, where every kilometre demands exceptional physical endurance, mental resilience and determination. Completing the 72-km distance under such challenging conditions is itself considered a formidable achievement.
