The Director General Recruiting of the Indian Army visited the ongoing Agniveer Recruitment Rally at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Bawana, Delhi, on September 15, 2026, to review the conduct of the recruitment process and interact with participating candidates.
During the visit, the DG Recruiting appreciated the efforts of the Independent Recruiting Office (IRO), Delhi, and the Local Military Authority under Headquarters Delhi Area for ensuring the smooth and successful conduct of the rally.
The DG also acknowledged the support provided by the civil administration in facilitating the recruitment rally and coordinating arrangements for the large number of candidates participating in the selection process.
As part of the visit, the DG Recruiting interacted directly with Agniveer aspirants and obtained feedback about their experience at the rally. The feedback is expected to help the Army further improve the recruitment process and facilities provided to candidates.
A key focus of the visit was the trial of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology being conducted at the rally site. The DG monitored the RFID trials and reviewed how the technology could be incorporated into different stages of the recruitment process.
The initiative reflects the Indian Army’s push towards technology-enabled recruitment aimed at improving transparency, efficiency and management of candidates during recruitment rallies.
The Agniveer recruitment rally at Bawana is part of the Army’s continuing recruitment process for selecting young candidates for service under the Agnipath scheme.
