Air Marshal Vivek Hande, Director General Medical Services (Air) and Commodore Commandant of the Institute of Aerospace Medicine (IAM), visited the Institute of Aerospace Medicine, Indian Air Force, Bengaluru, on September 22, 2026.
During the visit, the Air Marshal reviewed the institute’s state-of-the-art aeromedical simulators and took stock of ongoing training and research activities in the field of aerospace medicine.
A key highlight of the visit was the inauguration of PRAMANA — Psychological Resilience, Astronaut Mission Adaptation and Neuro Analytics — at the Centre for Advanced Research for Space Psychology.
The initiative marks a further step towards strengthening specialised research in space psychology, including areas related to psychological resilience, astronaut mission adaptation and neuro analytics.
Air Marshal Hande also interacted with officers and Air Warriors at the institute and commended them for their professional excellence and contribution to aerospace medicine.
He exhorted the personnel to continue advancing aeromedical training, evaluation and cutting-edge research to meet evolving requirements in aviation and space-related medicine.
The Institute of Aerospace Medicine plays a specialised role in aeromedical training, research and evaluation, supporting the operational requirements of the Indian Air Force and the broader field of aerospace medicine.
