Former NCC cadet Kushvi Purohit has achieved a major milestone by being commissioned as a Lieutenant in the Indian Army’s Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME) after successfully completing her military training at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Gaya.
Lieutenant Kushvi Purohit, an ex-cadet of 2 Gujarat Air Squadron NCC, Ahmedabad, was commissioned into the Indian Army on September 5, 2026. Her achievement has been celebrated by the NCC Directorate Gujarat as a proud moment for the organisation.
Her journey from the NCC parade ground to becoming a commissioned officer of the Indian Army reflects the discipline, dedication and determination fostered through the National Cadet Corps.
During her time with the NCC, Kushvi was associated with 2 Gujarat Air Squadron in Ahmedabad. The experience and training provided through the organisation helped build the qualities of leadership, discipline and commitment that are central to a career in the Armed Forces.
She subsequently underwent rigorous Army training at OTA Gaya, successfully completing the requirements necessary to earn the rank of Lieutenant and join the Corps of EME.
The Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers plays a crucial role in maintaining the operational readiness of the Indian Army by providing engineering and technical support for a wide range of weapons, vehicles and equipment.
