Nursing Officers of Military Hospital Prayagraj marked the centenary celebrations of the Military Nursing Service (MNS) by spending a day with elderly residents of Ravindranath Gaur Tara Vruddhashram, combining healthcare outreach with companionship and community service.
The initiative formed part of activities commemorating 100 years of the Military Nursing Service and reflected its longstanding emphasis on professional healthcare, compassion and service.
During the visit, the Nursing Officers conducted health check-ups for elderly residents, providing an opportunity to assess their general well-being and offer basic health-related guidance.
Awareness sessions were also organised to help residents better understand issues related to health and well-being in old age. Such interactions can play an important role in encouraging preventive healthcare and greater awareness among senior citizens.
Beyond medical assistance, the Nursing Officers participated in games and other activities with the residents, creating an atmosphere of interaction and companionship.
The officers also shared meals with the elderly residents and distributed essential items as part of the outreach programme.
