A two-day Communication Conclave was conducted by the Indian Army’s Southern Command to deliberate on the evolving communications landscape and examine technologies and capabilities aimed at building a seamless, resilient and responsive military communications ecosystem.
The conclave focused on key areas including communication architecture, interoperability, integration with Next Generation Networks (NGN), niche technologies and capability enhancement. The discussions were aimed at strengthening communications capabilities and ensuring greater integration and responsiveness across the communication environment.
Lt Gen Rajesh Pushkar, AVSM, VSM, Army Commander, Southern Command, underscored the imperative of developing an agile, integrated and future-ready communications ecosystem. He emphasised the need for rapid technology adoption and innovation to meet the evolving requirements of military communications.
The conclave also featured an equipment and technology showcase by industry partners, providing an opportunity to highlight indigenous innovations and emerging technological solutions relevant to defence communications. The showcase further contributed to interaction and collaboration among the Armed Forces, defence industry, Public Sector Undertakings and academia.
The event provided a platform for deliberations on the evolving communications landscape and the technologies required to enhance communication capabilities. The emphasis on interoperability, integration and niche technologies reflected the objective of developing communications systems that are seamless, resilient and responsive.
The conclave also reinforced the importance of collaboration between the Armed Forces, defence industry, PSUs and academic institutions in advancing indigenous communication technologies and capability development.
The Southern Command highlighted the vision of an integrated, resilient and future-ready communications ecosystem, with technology adoption and innovation forming key elements of capability enhancement. The focus on indigenous innovations also aligns with the broader objectives of Atmanirbharta and Make in India in the defence sector.
The Communication Conclave thus brought together operational requirements, technological innovation and institutional collaboration, with the discussions centred on strengthening communication capabilities through integration, interoperability and adoption of emerging technologies.
