Major General MA Shaik, SM, Chief of Staff, Sudarshan Chakra Corps, visited the Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME), Secunderabad, on September 26, 2026.
During the visit, Maj Gen MA Shaik toured various faculties, Centres of Excellence and state-of-the-art laboratories at MCEME. The visit provided him insights into the institution’s advanced training methodologies, indigenous capability development and application of emerging technologies.
During his tour, Maj Gen MA Shaik visited Dronalaya, Yantralaya and Rachnalaya, among the facilities at MCEME. The visit covered the institution’s work in areas involving emerging technologies and their application in military capability development.
The technologies highlighted during the visit included drones, robotics, Artificial Intelligence, additive manufacturing, electronic warfare and advanced communication technologies. The facilities and Centres of Excellence provided an overview of MCEME’s activities in training, technology application and indigenous capability development.
The visit showcased MCEME’s continued transformation into a hub of technological excellence, innovation and military capability development. The institution’s faculties, Centres of Excellence and laboratories are focused on advanced training methodologies and the application of emerging technologies.
Dronalaya, Yantralaya and Rachnalaya were among the facilities visited by Maj Gen MA Shaik during his tour of the institution. Maj Gen MA Shaik also interacted with Lt Gen Neeraj Varshney, AVSM, VSM, Commandant MCEME and Colonel Commandant, Corps of EME, during the visit.
