Under the aegis of Eastern Command, Headquarters 101 Area hosted the “Army–BSF Synergy Seminar 2026” at Shillong in collaboration with BSF Meghalaya Frontier, BSF Guwahati Frontier, BSF Mizoram & Cachar Frontier and BSF Tripura Frontier.
The seminar focused on enhancing operational coordination between the Indian Army and the Border Security Force (BSF), strengthening joint synergy and improving information sharing for effective border management.
The participation of the four BSF formations brought together representatives from the Meghalaya, Guwahati, Mizoram & Cachar and Tripura Frontiers for discussions on coordination and joint approaches to border management.
A key focus of the seminar was improving operational coordination between the Army and BSF. The discussions aimed at strengthening cooperation and ensuring greater synergy between the two forces in the conduct of their respective responsibilities.
Information sharing also formed an important part of the seminar. The participating formations discussed the importance of improved exchange of information as part of efforts to strengthen coordination and support effective border management.
The seminar further focused on fostering an integrated approach to border management. The discussions centred on developing greater synergy between the participating forces and improving coordination in areas relevant to border security.
