Surgeon Rear Admiral Jandhyala Sridhar assumed charge as the Command Medical Officer at Headquarters Eastern Naval Command on October 1, 2026.
Commissioned into the Indian Navy on June 30, 1993, Surgeon Rear Admiral Jandhyala Sridhar is an alumnus of Timpany School, Visakhapatnam, and the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune. A specialist in Dermatology, he has completed more than three decades of service in the Indian Navy.
During his career, Surgeon Rear Admiral Sridhar has held several key appointments in the naval medical establishment. He served as the Commanding Officer of INHS Kalyani, Visakhapatnam, including during the COVID-19 period.

He subsequently served as Director and Dean of the Institute of Naval Medicine at INHS Asvini, Mumbai. He has also held appointments as Senior Advisor at INHS Asvini and INHS Sanjivani.
Prior to assuming his present appointment, he served as Consultant Dermatology at Command Hospital (Eastern Command), Kolkata.
Alongside his service in the naval medical establishment, Surgeon Rear Admiral Sridhar has contributed extensively to medical education. He serves as a postgraduate examiner for the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), the National Board of Examinations (NBE) and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
His appointment as Command Medical Officer at Headquarters Eastern Naval Command places him in a key medical leadership position within the Indian Navy’s Eastern Naval Command. His experience across naval hospitals, medical education and specialist clinical services forms part of his professional background as he takes charge of the appointment.
With more than three decades of service in the Indian Navy and experience across operational, institutional and medical education roles, Surgeon Rear Admiral Jandhyala Sridhar brings extensive naval medical experience to his new responsibility at Eastern Naval Command.
