Ashok Kumar Dagar has been promoted to the rank of Inspector General (IG) in the Border Security Force (BSF), marking an important milestone in his career with the force.
A pipping ceremony was held at the BSF Force Headquarters in New Delhi on Monday, October 5, where Director General of the BSF Praveen Kumar, IPS, formally adorned Dagar with the insignia of Inspector General following his promotion from the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG).
The ceremony was attended by Dagar’s family members and senior BSF officers, who witnessed the formal conferment of his new rank.
The BSF described the promotion as a proud milestone in Dagar’s distinguished career and acknowledged his dedicated service to the nation.
During the ceremony, DG BSF Praveen Kumar congratulated Inspector General Ashok Kumar Dagar on his elevation and conveyed his best wishes for a successful and fulfilling tenure in his new rank.

The promotion places Dagar among the senior leadership of the Border Security Force, which is responsible for guarding India’s international borders with Pakistan and Bangladesh, besides undertaking a range of internal security and operational responsibilities.
