Mrs Anupama Pushkar, Regional President of Southern Star AWWA, visited the Early Intervention Centre of the Department of Paediatrics and the ‘Shravan’ Speech Therapy Centre of the Department of ENT at Command Hospital (Southern Command) in Pune.
During the visit, Mrs Pushkar interacted with Children with Special Needs (CwSN), therapists and caregivers and gained an understanding of the specialised healthcare and therapeutic support being provided to children at the hospital.
She appreciated the dedicated efforts of the medical teams, therapists and caregivers towards early screening and timely intervention for children requiring specialised assistance. She also acknowledged the work being undertaken to support speech development among children facing hearing-related challenges.

The Early Intervention Centre focuses on identifying developmental concerns at an early stage and providing appropriate intervention and support, while the ‘Shravan’ Speech Therapy Centre assists children requiring speech and communication therapy, particularly those affected by hearing-related difficulties.

As part of her interaction with the children, Mrs Pushkar presented gift hampers to them as a gesture of affection and encouragement.
The visit highlighted the Army Wives Welfare Association’s continued emphasis on child-centric healthcare and compassionate support for children and their families.

Southern Star AWWA said the initiative reflected its commitment to the holistic development of children, with the objective of helping every child realise their potential with dignity, confidence and hope.
