The Maharashtra government on Monday, 5 October 2026, transferred three IAS officers and appointed senior officer Sanjay Khandare as Additional Chief Secretary of the Forest Department. The orders were issued by the General Administration Department after approval by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Sanjay Khandare (IAS:RR:1996), who was Additional Chief Secretary of the Tourism Department at Mantralaya, Mumbai, has been posted as Additional Chief Secretary (Forests), Forest Department, Mantralaya, Mumbai. He will oversee forest administration, conservation and related policy matters at the state secretariat.
Sanjay Yadav (IAS:SCS:2009), who was State Project Director of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, Mumbai, has been appointed Secretary (Tourism), Tourism Department, Mantralaya, Mumbai. The posting fills the Tourism secretaryship vacated by Khandare’s transfer.
Vaishnavi B (IAS:RR:2019) has been posted as Additional Divisional Commissioner, Nagpur Division, Nagpur. Her last recorded posting before the order was Additional Municipal Commissioner, Nagpur Municipal Corporation.
Two of the three officers remain at Mantralaya. Only Vaishnavi B moves to a divisional posting. The reshuffle is limited to these three administrators and was reported by Mid-Day with inputs from PTI, along with state media citing the GAD order.
