Navy Wives Welfare Association (NWWA) Ghatkopar inaugurated a Tailoring Facility for naval families on September 25, 2026, as part of efforts focused on wellness, self-reliance and livelihood opportunities.
The facility will provide participants with hands-on training in tailoring-related skills, creating an opportunity to develop practical capabilities that can support self-reliance and livelihood generation.

Six participants began training at the facility, receiving practical exposure to machine operation, cutting, alterations and pattern designing.
The training programme is designed to provide participants with skills across different aspects of tailoring. The hands-on nature of the sessions allows them to learn and practise machine operation as well as cutting, alterations and pattern designing.

The initiative forms part of NWWA Ghatkopar’s efforts towards fostering wellness and self-reliance among naval families. By providing practical vocational training, the facility also seeks to create livelihood opportunities for participants.
The inauguration and commencement of training mark the beginning of the facility’s activities, with six participants undertaking hands-on sessions in tailoring skills.
The initiative was undertaken under the NWWA theme of “Anchoring Lives”, reflecting the focus on supporting naval families through initiatives aimed at wellness, self-reliance and livelihood opportunities.
