A 34-member Foreign Study Tour delegation from Japan visited the Indian Army’s elite Shatrujeet Brigade, where members were introduced to the formation’s distinguished military history, operational capabilities and modern combat equipment. The visit reflected the growing defence cooperation between India and Japan and provided an opportunity for professional interaction between military representatives of the two countries.
The delegation was hosted by the Shatrujeet Brigade in an atmosphere of friendship and professional camaraderie. During the visit, Japanese representatives were briefed on the brigade’s rich legacy, operational excellence and specialised capabilities as one of the Indian Army’s premier airborne formations.
A major highlight of the visit was a guided tour of the Airborne Gallery, where the delegation gained insights into the formation’s military history, traditions and contributions to the Indian Army. The gallery offered an overview of the evolution of airborne operations and the role of paratroopers in India’s military history.
The visiting delegation also witnessed a demonstration of modern military equipment, tactical capabilities and operational readiness. The Shatrujeet Brigade is among the Indian Army’s distinguished airborne formations, trained to conduct rapid deployment and specialised operations in challenging operational environments.
