Jabalpur, October 9, 2026: A three-member delegation from the Myanmar Army visited the Military College of Material Management (MCMM) in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, from October 8 to 9, 2026, as part of a professional military exchange aimed at strengthening bilateral defence cooperation and sharing training practices between the armed forces of India and Myanmar.
During the two-day visit, the Myanmar Army delegation toured various academic faculties of the institution and observed ongoing training methodologies firsthand. The visit provided the delegation with insights into the college’s approach to military education, logistics management and professional training.
The visiting officers were introduced to the academic environment and training practices followed at MCMM, an important training institution of the Indian Army specialising in material management, logistics and supply chain operations.
The interaction facilitated professional engagement between Indian Army personnel and the visiting Myanmar officers, allowing both sides to exchange knowledge, discuss training approaches and share best practices relevant to military logistics and material management.

The Military College of Material Management plays a significant role in developing professional expertise in inventory management, procurement, supply chain systems and logistical support. These capabilities are essential for maintaining the operational readiness and sustained effectiveness of military formations.
Military logistics has become increasingly important in modern warfare, where efficient resource management, timely equipment availability and effective supply chain coordination directly influence operational capabilities. Institutions such as MCMM contribute to preparing military personnel for these responsibilities through specialised education and training.
India and Myanmar share a long land border and maintain defence engagement through military exchanges, training cooperation and security-related interactions. Professional visits of this nature provide opportunities for military personnel from both countries to understand each other’s institutional practices and strengthen working relationships.

The two-day engagement at MCMM highlighted the importance of continued military-to-military cooperation, knowledge sharing and professional exchanges. The visit further strengthened mutual understanding between the Indian Army and the Myanmar Army while reinforcing bilateral defence ties.
