The Special Operations Group (SOG) of Vadodara City Police has arrested two men for possessing and using forged Indian Army ex-servicemen identity cards and related documents to obtain employment in private security firms. The arrests were made on the basis of specific information about the duo carrying bogus Army documents.
The accused have been identified as Dhirendrasingh Haal (also referred to as Dhirendrasing Harising) and Bhupendrasingh Gautam (also referred to as Bhupendrasing Shivkumarsing Gauttam or Bhupendrasingh Gautam Rajput). According to Gujarati media reports, both men are residents of Fatehpur in Uttar Pradesh. Police detained Dhirendrasingh Haal from Parishrampark Society on Gorwa Road and Bhupendrasingh Gautam from Sikotardham Society in the Karodia area of Vadodara.
During searches and interrogation, police recovered multiple forged documents, including Indian Army service books, certificates of service, dependent certificates, pension cards, and fake ex-servicemen identity cards. Investigations confirmed that neither of the arrested men had ever served in the Indian Army. They allegedly used the counterfeit documents to secure positions as security guards with private security agencies in the city, including Mahesana, Universal, and Sainik security firms.
The accused reportedly admitted during questioning that they had obtained the forged documents through intermediaries. Police have named two other individuals Captain Sonavne of a local security firm and Ajaysinh Chauhan as involved in the forgery. Both remain at large, and efforts are underway to arrest them.
An offence of forgery has been registered at Gorwa police station. Investigating officers are examining how the documents were prepared, whether a larger network is involved, and if additional forged Army-related documents exist. Police have emphasised that the possession and use of fake Indian Army ex-servicemen identity cards pose a national security risk, as such documents can be misused to gain access to sensitive locations or create a false sense of legitimacy.
The case highlights ongoing concerns over the misuse of military identity documents for employment and other gains. Further investigation is in progress.
