Manipur Director General of Police (DGP) Mukesh Singh, IPS, celebrated Diwali with personnel of the 2nd India Reserve Battalion (IRB) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) at Naranseina in Bishnupur district on November 8, 2026, highlighting the spirit of unity, camaraderie and togetherness among security forces.
The DGP was accompanied by the Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order/Armed Police) and the Deputy Inspector General of Police (Armed Police-I) during his visit to the 2nd IRB headquarters.
Upon his arrival, DGP Mukesh Singh was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour by the battalion personnel, marking the beginning of the festive celebrations.
As part of the Diwali festivities, a traditional Bada Khana was organised for the jawans of the 2nd IRB and CRPF stationed at the battalion. In a heartwarming gesture, the DGP and accompanying senior officers personally served food to the personnel and joined them for the special meal.

The interaction provided an opportunity for senior police leadership to connect with personnel serving on the ground, acknowledge their dedication and share the festive spirit with those who remain committed to their duties during important occasions.
During the visit, DGP Mukesh Singh also inaugurated a new unit gymnasium at the battalion, adding to the recreational and physical fitness facilities available to personnel. The facility is expected to support the physical fitness and overall well-being of the jawans.
The Diwali celebration at Naranseina reflected the strong bond between senior officers and security personnel while reinforcing the importance of morale, welfare and teamwork within the forces.
The occasion also served as a recognition of the sacrifices made by IRB and CRPF personnel who continue to perform their duties away from their families during the festive season.
By personally participating in the celebrations and sharing a meal with the jawans, the Manipur Police leadership reaffirmed its appreciation for the commitment, discipline and service of security personnel working to maintain peace and security in the state.
