The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee has approved the gallantry award of 2 Kirti Chakras and 10 Shaurya Chakras to the Indian Army personnel on the occasion of Republic Day 2017 and has been included in the list of citations.
While 19 jawans who took part in surgical strikes are being decorated with gallantry awards, many others are receiving various honours for their distinguished service.
